Merry Christmas to you all! I do hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. Especially if you have been crafting and crocheting away to get those gifts done on time!

Did you know I’ve published 18 free crochet patterns this year? Let me know your favourite in the comments!
Christmas and New Year are often a season for summing up, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to reflect on the year in blog-land. It’s been great to get so many new followers this year – not just for the lovely comments, but also the constructive feedback you give and great questions you ask! This really has helped me to think about how I can explain things more clearly.
A big step this year was my first crochet video tutorial – diamond trellis stitch. I’m amazed at how popular it has been! It just shows that some things are better done by demonstration, as I know many of you needed to see what I was writing about when I first released my diamond trellis basket pattern…
Another highlight this year has been finishing two lace shawl patterns. My favourite project of the year is definitely my Multiplicity Lace Shawl – I have worn it so many ways!
Summer Sprigs Lace Shawl is one of my most popular patterns of the year – and you’ve probably seen it bouncing up and down the Ravelry “hot right now” patterns page – thanks to everyone who has made it and given me feedback!
Speaking of Ravelry, I just love checking in to see who’s been making things from my patterns. So many people have wowed me with their projects – changing the yarn or a minor detail and making the patterns their own. Check out who’s been making what here!
So, what’s next for 2015? I know I’d like to make more lace shawls. And I’ve had some yarn for a new sweater sitting in my stash for far too long… Plus, there’s the leftover leather from another of my favourite projects – Leather and Doily Clutch Bag.
What will you be focussing on this year? And what would you like to see more of on Make My Day Creative? I’d love to know what you think!
Thank you thank you thank you. It is so much fun to see your great ideas! Shari
