I don’t know about you, but for me most of the Valentine’s Day stuff that appears in the shops after the Boxing Day sales doesn’t appeal. Don’t get me wrong – obviously it’s good for people to show their loved ones they care, but personally I would find a giant teddy bear to be an inconvenience, and I’m not convinced that chicken nuggets in heart shapes are really a great expression of love.
Fortunately for me my husband knows this and we are celebrating with a nice meal in together. In the spirit of keeping it simple I’ve made this card.
I drew the letters by hand – the “filled in” style made them extra easy to cut out and then arranged on a plain background for impact. I used this brown paper effect card blank to add to the simple feel of the design.
This is an easy technique and can be adapted for any message you like really!
If you are more of a romantic than I am here are a few of my projects which could also be Valentine’s day themed:
Irrespective of how you feel about Valentine’s Day I do hope you’re able to spend it with people you love.
Tried your love card letters this year and they are fabulous. Thank you for the pattern
Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)
I really like it, sometimes the simpler cards are the most effective :-)
Thank you! I agree about simplicity… Particularly if the recipient is male… ;)
Hehe I agree :-)
