Phew, what a busy week I have been having! I really had to focus to finish this project in time for my sister-in-law’s birthday this week. My house looked like a craft shop had exploded by the time I was done!
I spotted this pretty fabric and couldn’t resist it. It’s a printed cotton canvas, so quite heavy duty, which is perfect for long wearing shopping bags and purses- so that’s what I decided to use it for.
The bags are just your basic rectangles hemmed and sewn together with handles added (although I did sneak a handy pocket into the larger size bag). I lined the purse with felt to add body and make it useful for jewellery storage (remember this set from last week?).
To find out how I made it have a look at this slideshow:
This is my first youtube video – not too bad although I don’t know why the captions disappear so quickly – this only happened once I uploaded it. If anyone has any youtube/video tips you will have to let me know!
Anyway, I think my sister-in-law will be pleased with this- who doesn’t like a gift, inside a gift, inside another gift after all?
I can confirm, with absolute 100% certainty, that her sister-in-law was very pleased indeed! ;-)
Good to know! ;)
Anna has just watched the slideshow with great interest and commented “What a clever auntie I’ve got”!
Lol! She’s obviously a very smart nearly 5yr old! :)
What a beautiful birthday present!!
Thank you! :)
