Update 14th November 2013: Thank you to everyone who supported this project. I have donated the full amount you paid for this pattern to the Royal British Legion.
The pattern is still available, if anyone wishes to purchase it, but I will not be making donations from any purchases between now and next October (when I will run this appeal again) because of the multiple small transactions involved. I will donate the total amount raised annually at that point. [End of Update]
I’ve mentioned previously that poppies are my favourite flower. So I really enjoyed working on this pretty project. It is a bracelet, but you could also just make the poppy part without the straps and then make a brooch or applique for another project, if you prefer.
As some of you know, one of the places I volunteer is at my local foodbank. I have recently been moved by the stories of a number of clients who are ex-army. I think it is easy to forget just how difficult readjusting to “normal” life can be for many who have served in the army.
Therefore I am posting this pattern for sale for £2; between now and November 11th 2013 all proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion to further their work looking after the army community. I hope you will consider purchasing it and wearing your poppy bracelet or brooch as part of the “Poppy Appeal”.
You can buy the pattern by clicking here: buy now or by visiting its Ravelry Pattern Page (FREE if you click here during March 2016). The pattern comes written in US notation and English notation (in one document).
The pattern will come to you as a pdf and contains step by step photos. It is written in US terminology, and is repeated in English terminology at the end.
As with all my patterns, you are free to sell any items you make, particularly if you would like to raise money for charity, but please do not reproduce this pattern anywhere, provide a link to this post or the Ravelry pattern page instead.
This is my first ever pattern for sale; please do give me your feedback and let me know if you have any questions!
Are you selling ready made ones? Xx

I hadn’t thought I would do, but I’ll reconsider if there is demand! :)
I would buy a ready made one as there is no way I could make it myself by november!! Your skills clearly bypassed a generation…
I think I can manage to make one for you! :) x
Well done Esther, what a lovely idea. I hope you make lots of money for the poppy appeal!
Thanks Rachel! :)

Send to us by a fellow crochet blogger – all for a very good cause!!! Please have a look at her pattern, as well as her site!
Thank you so much! :)
would love to have bought this pattern but I having/had problems with paypal and wont let me order any other way as my card is connected to pay pal and it wont allow to use card if you have pay pal sorry :-(
That’s a shame! Sorry it isn’t cost effective for me to provide alternative payment methods. Try my triple layer flower pattern or pointy petal flower pattern for two free alternatives. :)
This is beautiful and for such a good cause. Hopefully I will have some time to make some.
Thank you! I’m hoping people make it and sell it themselves for charity too, so feel free if you get time. :)
What a lovely gesture :)
Thanks Jane! :)

This is so lovely, I am currently donating the poppies I make to the poppy stand so they can sell them to raise more money :)
Thanks! I hope you make lots! :)
