New Year, New Resolutions

Happy New Year!

I read that most New Year’s resolutions fail in the 2nd week. I don’t know if the reason is that they are often too unsustainable or if it’s just that most of us don’t have the necessary resolve required. Maybe we are just too ambitious? I haven’t made any for the last few years because quite frankly, I don’t like to fail!

One of the reasons I started this blog was to motivate myself to be more crafty. I’m pleased to report that it worked! Not only that but I’m really enjoying the process of blogging, and it is always good to find something new to enjoy.  This year I am going to make some resolutions, and since the blog has worked for me so far I thought I’d share them with you.

Painting the Mona Lisa first time may be a resolution too far…

1. Paint more
2. Sew a complete outfit (all by myself!)
3. Get more photos printed (and into frames)
4. Sell a few more things from my shop

I’ve tried to make my resolutions attainable; as mentioned before I don’t like to fail and I think ticking one of these resolutions off every so often will give a sense of accomplishment.  Afterall, I can work on turning those paintings into masterpieces next year…

If you haven’t made any resolutions (or have already broken some!) why not try a new craft or writing a blog? Finding something you love to do is much more fun than dieting or kicking yourself for sitting watching TV when you had resolved to be at the gym…

Do let me know about your crafty intentions for the year!
